What is the warranty on my Bixpy Motor and Outboard Battery?
Please refer to this page for all details pertaining to our warranty program: https://bixpy.com/bixpy-warranty/
Please remember that warranty is for manufacturer defect and malfunction. Warranty will not cover breakage, mistreatment or your device or use or abuse beyond what the products were designed to handle.
Can I fly with my Bixpy Outboard Battery?
Airlines have fairly firm restrictions on the size of the lithium batteries you can carry with you on a passenger airplane. Most airlines will allow a lithium ion battery in a device with a capacity of no more than 160 Watt Hours as a carry-on (many airlines limit that to 100 Watt Hours). No lithium ion batteries are allowed in checked bags. Always check with your airline before traveling, as these rules and regulations frequently change and vary from airline to airline and airport to airport. All Bixpy batteries are named after their capacity. So a PP-77 is a 77 Watt Hour battery. A PP-378 is a 378 Watt Hour battery.
Can I use other batteries with my Bixpy motor?
The short answer is "No" and the long answer is "Noooooooooo". Bixpy batteries are high voltage lithium batteries with custom built electronics inside that communicate with the motor. You will not be able to run Bixpy motors with other batteries.

Is there an optimal speed for my Bixpy motor?
Like any other vehicle, the mid range is always the best place to get the most out of your batteries. This is where you'll get the best battery life, user experience, and performance from your motor and batteries.
How do I know my battery is charging?
All Bixpy chargers have small LED indicators on them. When they are plugged into a wall outlet, the light turns green. Once you plug in your battery, it will turn red, indicating that it's charging your battery. Even if your battery is fully charged, the light might stay red for a bit as the charger confirms each cell's charge.
Once fully charged, the LED will turn green. If your charger is not working well, or you suspect it's faulty or it's flashing red and green, discontinue charging immediately and contact Bixpy at: https://bixpy.com/support or email us at support@bixpy.com. Never charge a faulty battery or a battery you suspect is faulty or over drained.
Can I trickle charge my batteries?
No, lithium battery packs cannot be trickle charged. Keep an eye on your battery's charge level and charge it as needed to prevent over-drainage. Your charger will automatically shut off when the battery is full and won't charge it further. DO NOT LEAVE batteries on the charger unattended.

Miscellaneous
When is the best time to buy Bixpy products?
To be fair to everyone involved, we sell the Bixpy motors and batteries at the lowest price we can, without compromising the quality of our products. As such, we keep the price stable and avoid constant price fluctuations. That way you don't have to wait for "Sales" and holidays to buy your Bixpy gear!
We do occasionally have specials that offer discounts on other products when purchasing the kits at full price. Additionally, we will offer refurbished and factory-seconds kits at a reduced price from time to time, though there is no set timeline for when these types of products are available. In order to be notified about these special savings events, please make sure you are subscribed to our email and text newsletters.
Do Bixpy kits ever go on sale?
At Bixpy, we believe in fair, consistent pricing year-round. We price our motors and batteries as competitively as possible from the start, without inflating prices just to offer temporary “sales” later. Because of that, we generally do not run traditional discounts, flash sales, or holiday blowouts on our core kits.
Our goal is simple: when you are ready to get on the water, you should feel confident buying without waiting for a coupon code or a better deal next month. The price you see today is intended to reflect the real value of the product, the engineering behind it, and the support that comes with it.
From time to time, we may offer refurbished units, factory seconds, discontinued inventory, or special bundles with added value, but these are limited and not part of a regular sales cycle.
If you are waiting for a major sale on a Bixpy kit, there likely will not be one. When you are ready to start your next adventure, that is the best time to buy.
Use and Care
How deep should my motor be in the water?
The top of your motor shroud should be at least 2 to 3 inches below the waterline so as not to cause cavitation and avoid air from getting sucked into the propeller housing.
That may change if you're in very choppy water.
You'll know when the motor starts sucking in air and you can adjust accordingly.
Do I need to register my kayak once a motor is installed?
Most states do require any watercraft with a motor (regardless of size) to be registered through the appropriate agency.
Here is a link to a great resource regarding boat registration across the US.
