How to Motorize Your Paddle Board Fast and Easy with Bixpy

Adding electric power to a paddle board doesn’t have to be complicated. With Bixpy, motorizing a SUP is a quick and simple upgrade that works on almost any board. Using the lightweight Bixpy K-1 Motor and a range of plug-and-play fin adapters, you can add smooth electric power in just minutes.

The system is designed to be clean and easy to use, even if you’ve never installed a motor before. Whether you want a little help on long paddles, more speed when exploring, or an easier ride in wind and current, Bixpy makes it possible without changing how you enjoy your board.

Bixpy offers several fin-style adapters, each designed to match the most common fin boxes and board styles. Every adapter replaces or adds a fin mount and gives you a secure connection point for the motor. Once installed, the motor slides on and off in seconds.

Below is a breakdown of each fin adapter and what it’s best suited for.

Flip & Lock Fin Adapter

The Flip & Lock Fin Adapter is made for paddle boards or kayaks that use a Flip & Lock fin box. This adapter replaces your existing fin and locks into the same mechanism, creating a strong and stable mounting point for the Bixpy motor.

It’s built with waterproof and corrosion-resistant materials, making it reliable in both freshwater and saltwater. Installation is fast and requires no tools beyond what you already use to remove your fin.

US Fin Adapter

The US Fin Adapter is one of the most common and easiest ways to motorize a paddle board. If your board uses a standard US fin box, this adapter slides right into the existing track after you remove your fin.

Once in place, it creates a clean, centered mount for the Bixpy K-1 Motor. This setup keeps your board balanced and streamlined while giving you reliable electric power.

Slide & Lock Fin Adapter

For boards that use a Slide & Lock fin system, the Slide & Lock Fin Adapter offers a true plug-and-play solution. It replaces your current fin and locks into place using the same mechanism.

The low-profile design keeps your board efficient in the water, and the motor attaches or detaches in seconds. This is one of the quickest ways to add power without changing your board’s feel.

Not all paddle boards come with a standard fin box—but that doesn’t mean you’re out of options. For boards with flat hulls or inflatable designs, Bixpy offers mounting solutions that create a secure fin box without drilling or permanent modifications.

Peel & Bond Fin Box Adapter

The Peel & Bond Fin Box Adapter is ideal for boards that don’t have a standard fin box or have a unique fin layout. This adapter bonds directly to the bottom of your board using strong 3M VHB adhesive, so there’s no drilling or hardware involved.

Once the fin box is bonded and cured, you pair it with the Slide & Lock Adapter, allowing the motor to slide on and off easily. This option works especially well on hard boards with flat surfaces.

Glue-On Fin Box Adapter (For Inflatables)

For inflatable paddle boards, inflatable kayaks, and PVC-based inflatables, the Glue-On Fin Box Adapter is the best solution. This flexible PVC fin plate is glued directly to the bottom of the board using PVC or urethane adhesive (not included).

Once bonded, the included Slide & Lock Adapter lets you attach the motor in seconds. The setup keeps a shallow motor depth, helping maintain smooth performance without adding drag.

One Motor, Many Boards

One of the biggest advantages of the Bixpy system is flexibility. The same Bixpy K-1 Motor works across all of these fin adapters, meaning you can move the motor between boards without buying a new system each time. Pair it with a Bixpy Outboard Battery, and you get a quiet, lightweight, and reliable electric setup that fits your exact board.

Motorizing your paddle board has never been easier. Whether your SUP uses a US fin box, Slide & Lock system, Flip & Lock design, or no fin box at all, Bixpy has an adapter that fits. From rigid boards to inflatables, the system is built to work with the gear you already own.

With the right fin adapter, a Bixpy K-1 Motor, and a waterproof battery, your paddle board becomes a quiet, capable electric board that helps you go farther with less effort—without changing what makes paddling fun.
