Universal Versa Rudder Installation

The Universal Rudder Adapter is designed to give you the option to mount a Bixpy Motor on to the rudder of most kayaks that offer a 10mm (roughly 3/8”) rudder bracket or rudder hole. If your kayak does not have a 10mm rudder bracket, you can purchase one from us. There are three options available:

• Option 1: Bixpy Simple Gudgeon for kayaks or boats that have a flat area and sometimes even brass inserts already in place
• Option 2: Bixpy WillFit™ Gudgeon for more complex installations on kayaks with narrow or uneven sterns 

• Option 3: Bixpy Hobie Gudgeon for the Hobie Lynx Kayak

The Versa Rudder™ also features a gravity driven locking mechanism that allows the rudder to lock into place when motorized in forward or reverse. Steering our rudder can be done by using the existing rudder steering lines on your watercraft with our included V-ARM™ Steering Bracket. If you do not have existing steering lines on your kayak, you can use our Pole Steering to steer the rudder instead of the V-ARM™ Steering Bracket. Please make sure you choose the appropriate steering option for your watercraft.
