Registering your vessel
In certain municipalities, states, counties, or countries, it is required that you register motorized kayaks, SUPs or canoes with a local licensing body. For example, in many US states, the state DMV will require you to register your motorized kayak as a motorized boat. Please be sure to take the necessary steps to comply with local laws and regulations that apply to your vessel once motorize. In the US, a good resource to find more information is www.takemefishing.org. For the purposes of registration or exemption from registering in certain places, please note that Bixpy Jets are electric motors that produce less than 10 horsepower.
USER AGREEMENT - SAFETY, RESPONSIBILITY AND RELEASE
Using a motor/thruster and lithium batteries on any watercraft or for diving or swimming can be dangerous and involves certain risks which often cannot be predicted or avoided. Those risks include, but are not limited to, personal injury or death, property damage, which may result from, loss of control, collisions with other users or watercraft, swimmers, and natural and man-made objects and/or animals/plants. By choosing to use a Bixpy product, you assume these risks and thereby need to know and practice water safety rules, responsible motoring, and proper use and maintenance of your Bixpy product(s) to reduce these risks. Since it is impossible to anticipate every situation or condition which can occur while under motor power in water, Bixpy can make no representation or warranty about the use and safety of Bixpy products under all conditions.
By purchasing and/or using Bixpy Products, you acknowledge, agree and understand the danger(s) involved in using Bixpy products and accessories. You, on behalf of yourself and your heirs, executors, administrators, successors and assignees: (1) Fully assume the risks involved in using Bixpy products and agree to use your best judgment in undertaking your activities to reduce such risks. (2) Agree to strictly and fully follow all safety instructions in this document and/or provided on the Bixpy Website or related communications. (3) Fully and voluntarily waive, relinquish, covenant not to sue, release and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bixpy, its members, employees, officers, managers, agents, resellers and representatives from any claim or loss for personal injury, property damage and/or death resulting from the use of Bixpy products and/or accessories.
You further: (1) acknowledge and agree that this waiver and assumption of risk is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by applicable law and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, the balance shall nonetheless continue in full force and effect; (2) acknowledge and agree this assumption of risk and waiver provides for the release of legal rights; and (3) expressly waive whatever benefits may be available under Section 1542 of the California Civil Code, as follows: A general release does not extend to claims which the creditor does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release, which if known by him or her must have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor.
Please note that your insurance policies may not provide coverage for incidents resulting from the use of Bixpy products. Please contact your insurance company to determine your coverage prior to using Bixpy products.
IF YOU DO NOT AGREE FULLY TO ALL OF THESE PROVISIONS, YOU SHOULD NOT USE BIXPY PRODUCTS.

Bixpy Extended Service Plan (ESP) Terms & Conditions

What this is: This Plan is a service contract that provides additional protections beyond the limited manufacturer’s warranty. It is not insurance.
1) Covered product & term
• Covered product: A new, genuine Bixpy product purchased from bixpy.com or an authorized Bixpy dealer, identified on your receipt and linked to its serial number.
• When coverage starts and ends:
– Defect coverage (electronics and battery core) begins the day after the manufacturer’s 1-year warranty ends and runs for one (1) additional year.
– Accidental/physical damage & catastrophic loss benefits begin on the delivery date and end when this ESP term ends.
2) What’s included (plan benefits)
A. Defect / failure coverage (100% parts & labor)
If the covered product’s electronic components or battery core fail under normal use during the ESP term, Bixpy will repair or replace failed parts at no charge.
B. Accidental / physical damage — 50% repair discount
If the battery sustains physical damage not normally covered by warranty (e.g., entanglement with fishing line or grasses, impact, non-warranty water ingress), Bixpy will perform the repair at a 50% discount off standard repair pricing. Repair availability and estimates provided after diagnostics.
C. Catastrophic damage or loss — one 50% replacement
If your battery is catastrophically damaged or lost during the ESP term, you are eligible for one (1) replacement of the same or comparable model at 50% off the then-current retail price (plus taxes/shipping). Limit one discounted replacement per ESP. Replacement may be new or refurbished and of equal or greater functionality (model may differ). Bixpy may require reasonable incident documentation (for example, an incident affidavit and/or a police report for theft or loss).
D. Priority support & diagnostics
Priority access to support and no-charge diagnostics any time the covered item is sent to Bixpy for evaluation during the ESP term.
3) What’s not covered (exclusions)
• Normal cosmetic wear (scratches, dents, discoloration) that do not affect function.
• Normal battery capacity loss or degradation from aging or charge/discharge cycles.
• Consumables and accessories not part of the product's assembly.
• Damage from misuse, abuse, improper installation, unauthorized modifications or repairs, or use contrary to published instructions.
• Environmental/force-majeure events (e.g., fire, flooding, earthquake) except as covered by the single 50% replacement benefit above.
• Any loss or damage occurring before ESP purchase or outside the ESP term.
• Commercial/rental use unless expressly allowed on your receipt.
4) How to obtain service
1. Open a ticket at bixpy.com (Support → “Open A Support Ticket”) or contact info@bixpy.com Have your order number, serial number, and description/photos ready.
2. Diagnostic & RMA. We’ll guide you through troubleshooting. If needed, we’ll issue an RMA and shipping instructions.
3. Shipping. Unless otherwise stated, you’re responsible for inbound shipping to Bixpy; Bixpy covers standard return shipping within the Continental U.S. after service.
4. Repair / replacement.
• Covered defect: no charge for parts/labor.
• Accidental damage: you pay 50% of the quoted repair cost.
• Catastrophic/loss: you pay 50% of current retail price for a single replacement.
5. Turnaround. Bixpy will begin repairs within a reasonable time and endeavor to complete repairs promptly after receiving your unit and approval of any estimates.
5) Purchase window
• This ESP is available at checkout with a new Bixpy motor, battery, or kit, or within 30 days of covered product purchase (provide order and serial numbers so we can attach the ESP).
– Product condition at purchase: If not purchased at checkout, you must confirm the product is fully functionaland not in need of service.
6) Cancellation & refunds (California)
• Free-look: Cancel within 30 days after receiving the contract for a full refund if no claims have been made.
• After the free-look: Cancel any time for a pro‑rata refund based on elapsed time (or other objective measure), less an administrative fee capped at the lesser of $25 or 10% of the ESP price, and less the value of any service/benefits already provided.
• How to cancel: Email info@bixpy.com or call 1-866-249-7910 with your order and serial number; you may also mail a signed request to the address above. Cancellation is effective upon our receipt of your request.
7) Limits of liability & maximum benefits
• The total of all benefits under this ESP will not exceed the original purchase price of the covered product.
• The catastrophic/loss benefit is limited to one (1) discounted replacement per ESP.
• This ESP does not cover indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., loss of use, time, travel, or data), to the extent permitted by law.
8) Transferability
• This ESP is non-renewable and non-transferable (except to a Bixpy-provided replacement of the same unit
9) Miscellaneous
• No recurring charges. This ESP is a one‑time purchase for a fixed term.
• This Plan is the entire agreement relating to the services it provides; any changes must be in writing by Bixpy.
• Concurrency with manufacturer warranty. This ESP applies only to items/time periods not covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, except where it provides relief not available under that warranty (e.g., discounted replacement).
• Severability: If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
• No waiver: A failure to enforce any term is not a waiver of that term.
